Lunch is served either in our private crafting room or in the venue’s restaurant, depending on which retreat you are booked on to. You’ll have time to break out and stretch those hands and legs ready for the afternoon. You can help yourself to unlimited teas, and coffees, throughout your stay. Your host will be on hand during crochet sessions to assist if you’re still learning the yarns, or to help with any other crochet topics.

Villa Selva, Tuscany
You will stay at the charming Villa Selva, a 350 year old rustic Tuscan style farmhouse located on the panoramic hill of Pieve Santo Stefano overlooking the historic town of Lucca. This beautifully restored residence will be your home for 5 luxurious nights. The villa boasts typical Tuscan panache, with high wooden beamed ceilings and quintessential terracotta tile floors, whilst ensuring superior modern comforts such as central heating and wifi.
As you enter the home, you are greeted by a grand fireplace and the smell of an impressive wood-fired oven. The fully equipped professional kitchen is where your private chef Karolina will prepare the best of Tuscan and Italian cuisine throughout your stay.
There are 7 twin/double rooms in total, all of which are finely furnished and are complete with their own ensuite bathrooms.
Each bedroom offers magnificent views over the surrounding Forci estate, with acres of olive trees, vineyards and forests stretching as far as the eye can see. The name Villa Selva literally translates as Forest House.
The villa provides a peaceful and relaxing place to enjoy the outdoors, and you will be able to take advantage of the extensive private gardens. With three pergolas, the space is perfect for alfresco dining and peaceful crochet.
The swimming pool terrace is fully equipped with large tables, parasols and loungers, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the fresh Tuscan air.
Italians have a great talent in being able to put their worries aside, even for a moment, to enjoy their surroundings and interact with their community. This lifestyle refers to the art of slow living and is aptly named ‘lo struscio’. Crochet is artful in its ability to melt away stress, and we have designed our Tuscan retreat to reflect this perfect Italian motto.

Come alone or with friends
Our retreats are kept to small groups. This way you can share together as a group, and benefit from one-to-one help and advice if needed. Whether travelling alone or with friends, you will feel included and part of the event, without the worry of being in an intimidating large group or clique.
Your retreat will be an unmissable opportunity to spend time crocheting to your heart’s desire! You’ll be amongst people who share your love of crochet, and who are willing to offer support and kindness. Simply enjoy a fabulous time doing what you love!
Take inspiration from others who are just as passionate about crochet and yarns as you are. Our crochet tutor will be on hand to assist if you’re still learning the yarns, and can offer one-to-one guidance if you are new to certain aspects of crochet, or would like to benefit from some expert tuition on areas that you would like to improve.
We prefer smaller groups
We feel it is important to limit numbers for our retreats, that’s why we keep the guest numbers low at any one event. There’s nothing worse than feeling alienated and left out of a large group that already has established cliques within it.
A note from the host
A crochet retreat really IS my idea of heaven! My own time to unwind and crochet. Non-stop crochet!
I hardly ever get time to sit down and have a good go at a project for hours on end, or have time to get my head around a new intricate pattern that I want to crack. Not having to do house work is enough! Put that together with crocheting, eating lovely food, and laughing with other crocheteers like me, and I’m in!
That’s why it’s important to me that I make these crochet retreats special. So that anyone who joins me, can get really excited at the thought of going, as much as I do.
I am a crochet lover just like you, and I designed these crochet retreats for people like us.
I can’t wait to see you there!
